January: African Peoples Solidarity Committee Conference
Six hundred years of parasitic capitalism built and maintained through Europe’s assault, enslavement, genocide, plunder and occupation against African people and the majority of the world are coming to an end.
All over the globe those who have lived under the brutal grip of imperialism for centuries are exuberantly rising up to reclaim their land, resources, culture and self-government.
As a result the system of parasitic capitalism and white power is weak and in rapid decline.
Every day we see new signs of crisis: economic collapse, increasing imperial wars, societal breakdown, growing movements of resistance striking out against the status quo on all fronts.
The imperialist ruling class can no longer rule in the same old way. Violent repression and degrading colonial domination can no longer produce imperialist peace with subservient victims.
The vast mass of struggling humanity, those who were once what African People’s Socialist Party (APSP) Chairman Omali Yeshitela calls the “objects of history” are now standing up powerfully as history’s subjects, changing forever the political landscape everywhere.
Imperialism is in its death crisis. For most of humanity this is a cause for great celebration—in Venezuela, Bolivia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Occupied Palestine, Somalia and so many other places.
For North Americans or Europeans, Israelis, or whites in South Africa, who have been imperialism’s beneficiaries, gaining our opportunities, rights and prosperity from colonial plunder, slavery and war for so long, we find that everything we took for granted about the past and the future is wrong.
This is a prospect that may bring fear, anxiety and foreboding.
The solution for this is not found in mood-altering drugs, survival skills or collections of weapons.
Imperialism’s crisis need not be our crisis.
The solution is found in abandoning our allegiance to the sinking ship of imperialism and joining in solidarity with the struggles of African and oppressed peoples everywhere.
We have the dynamic opportunity to play a role in being part of this powerful transformation led by the African Revolution and its allies, the oppressed peoples of the world.
This is a call by the African People’s Solidarity Committee, for white people everywhere to recognize our interests in joining the vibrant worldwide transformation to end imperialism and the system of oppressors and the oppressed.
Participate in the APSC International Conference January 6-8, 2013 at the Uhuru House in St. Petersburg, the home of the international headquarters of the African People’s Socialist Party.
