NYC: Fill Theater for Mumia Film [Saturday #Culture]
Long Distance Revolutionary will be shown at the Village Cinema on 12th Street, just west of University Place on Feb. 2 and 3.
The theater must be filled when it is shown so that the movie will be shown around the country. Please spread the word as much as possible.
With growing anticipation, a contingent of the longest-standing supporters of Mumia and the effort to free him from an unjust incarceration are gathering around the theatrical release of Long Distance Revolutionary. They see this as the beginning of a new groundswell. The potential runaway success of Long Distance Revolutionary in theaters marks the chance to put Mumia back in the consciousness of the mainstream with his ever relevant revolutionary voice in the age of increasing mass incarceration, a marginalized poor, and escalating war.
We implore you to reach out to all your contact in New York, New Jersey and Philadelphia to show up for the opening weekend,February 1-2-3… as well as the rest of the week, at Cinema Village in NYC. We must pack the house for Mumia This may be a film out in the marketplace but it is not our moment, it is his moment and we must make the most of it. Now is the time.
