Ikonoklast

Ikonoklast is an African Internationalist, writer, leftist comedian and our very own Podcasting man from Texas.  He contributes to the site with the understanding that endeavors taken on by individuals in isolation from the masses is doomed to fail.  As a result, he brings hard hitting writings, pieces, and podcasts in an effort to educate and inform the masses with a hard hitting sense of humor and wit.   Ikonoklast loves playing the guitar, lifting weights, and reading.  Musically, he loves Radiohead, Tupac, TV On The Radio, Nirvana, Immortial Technique, Lowkey, Public Enemy, Dead Prez, and many more.  In his own words….”Basically I love creativity and media that I believe can lead us to a society free of oppression.  I’m not an idealist, I know music can’t free the oppressed masses within itself, but music is a sonic reflection of the objective material world and can be translated by artists into something that lends itself as the voice of the listener”.  His favorite authors are Franz Fanon, Frank B. Wilderson, Derrick Jensen, and Kwame Nkrumah to name a few.

Zari Sundiata

Zari Sundiata is an African Internationalist, writer and organizer from Texas.  She has worked in a variety of initiatives including policy making, event planning, and holding various offices for a grassroots organization which promoted self-determination for all African people.  She joins POCO with a desire to make independent media available to the masses so the people can have access to real information and make wise decisions in these uncertain times.  Her interests include working out, reading, music, and independent media.  When asked about the importance of independent media Zari explains…”There are so many distractions in mainstream media, and usually what passes for news is a litany of sports statistics and high speed car chases.  People need to know the news on the ground, from the people’s perspective.  We can’t keep blaming our children for their lack of knowledge, when there are adults who don’t understand the Electoral College.”
